Who am I? I often ask myself that very same question. A little bit Rodney, a hint of Dean, a touch of Elvis, a pinch of Ray, a smattering of Beatles, and that is just the beginning. From a singing single or dynamic duo to an awesome foursome or quintessential quintet, in English and Italian, on piano, organ, synthesizer, accordion, flugelhorn, and trumpet, always the musician, but ever the entertainer, teacher, director, producer, and arranger, and affectionately dubbed the Minister of Music, playing for Liza Minelli, Harry Connick Jr., Frank Gorshin, Buddy Greco, and Jay Leno (just to name a few), indoors or outdoors, on stage, off stage, or back stage (but never upstaged), live and on CD, in those immortal words of William Shakespeare (and his Sunshine Band), “mine is not to reason why, mine is but to ... do a little dance, make a little love, and get down tonight, get down tonight.” What music do I play? All the hits, from ‘Una Lacrima Sul Viso’ to ‘Statte Vicina Me’ ... oh, you mean in English. Jazz, Cool Jazz, Dixieland Jazz, Bebop, Hard Bob, Soul Jazz, Modern Jazz (against which, I got no kick), Free Jazz, Latin Jazz, Fusion, Pop Fusion, Swing, and all that jazz in between. Whatever type of jazz that you love, I will play it for you. I also do a large selection of Rock, Pop, Dance, Blues, Ballads, Bossa Nova, Salsa, Samba, Soul, Opera, Classical, Gospel, Reggae, and of course, Gangster Rap, but unless specifically requested, I will do JAZZ ... and sing Italian songs. :-) Where do I appear? Casino’s, clubs, bars, lounges, restaurants, halls, dives, prisons, senior citizen centers, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, hospitals, schools, churches, parks, beaches, boardwalks, hotels, country clubs, inns, wineries, boutiques, piers, private parties, kids’ parties, block parties, private homes, and on any city street corner. Anywhere there’s an ear, anytime there’s a rhyme, and any day there’s a way, I’ll be there. I also have a large following of fans and supporters in the South Jersey area that love to attend my performances.
